“The best cure is prevention.”
This line is very true, especially for conditions as serious as Cancer. It would be best to nip the problem in the bud. When it comes to Skin Cancer, the first and most effective line of defense can be taken from the ’99 Baz Luhrmann hit (aptly) entitled “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)”:
Wear sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists…
Use at least SPF20 sunscreen when you go out into the sun, re-apply liberally after every hour especially if you’re out swimming. When out on the beach, make sure you do not get sunburn.
Cover up with adequately with enough clothing and visors or hats. Try to stay in the shade and away from the sun from 11am-3pm. Never go outdoors without your sunglasses – your eyes are just as vulnerable to cancer as your skin. Make sure your glasses have sufficient UV protection.
New studies show that green vegetables may also be a great help in preventing Skin Cancer. They say that some compounds found in vegetables like cabbage and broccoli work against melanoma — the most serious form of Skin Cancer.
