Drinking and Heart Diseases – Match?

More and more people are now becoming more conscious about their habits and vices as they become more concern of avoiding heart diseases. They lean towards a healthier lifestyle in order to reduce risks of getting such diseases. Contrary to this belief, recent studies show that drinking can possibly reduce the risks of heart disease for men but not for women.

According to researches conducted, emphasizes that risk of getting heart diseases is lowest on men who drinks alcohol daily than those who drinks occasionally. The same study was done on women but the results are less impressive than those obtained from men because the amount of alcohol consumed is more important than their drinking frequency. Occasional drinkers among men have a 7% lower risk of getting heart disease but those who drink daily have more than 40% lower risk. These comparisons support the claims that moderate drinkers have far better chance of avoiding heart disease than those who abstain.

But the claim that alcohol drinking can reduce the risk of heart disease does not equate to consuming more implies lowering the risk more. Of course, too much drinking still has its medical repercussions and that is why only moderate drinking is encouraged.
